Welcome to our Bell Ringers' page - First of all some facts. There are 8 bells hung for full-circle change ringing, at Monken Hadley see images. The tenor bell weighs just over 10cwt, which is considered to be a very manageable weight and the bells are easy to ring. We have a mixed band of men and women of all ages who ring regularly. Ringing the bells this way is traditionally English and generations of ringers have been calling the faithful on Sundays since the middle of the 18c, but it isn't all self denial and sacrifice. We have lots of fun and interest along the way. There are regular events such as outings, dinners and parties. There's a real fellowship to the Guild, linked to the wider fellowship of the Church. We would welcome new members to come and learn to ring bells, you don't have to be a church member and there are no special qualifications, but you must be aged over 12. You may be interested, just to come and watch. You will be welcome! Please come and meet us! We look forward to seeing you. We practice on Tuesday evenings from 7.45pm to 9.15pm, and we ring twice on Sundays, morning and evening. We also ring for weddings, other special events, church & state festivals throughout the year.
